Syracuse University Beginnings
It all started when I became a Visiting Scholar at Syracuse University, NY. There, I teamed up with some amazing scholars to dive into democratic education methods.
Some of the courses I designed and taught: “Writing for Advanced Public Speaking Skills,” “Theory of Argumentation,” “Educational Administration and Curriculum Management,” and “Language & Political Philosophy.”
Introduction of ECTS in YSLU
During my tenure as a Director of Studies, I played a key role in contributing to the introduction of the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) at Yerevan State Linguistic University (YSLU).
My efforts helped the institution align with European standards, making it easier for students to move between universities and get their credits recognized across Europe. This initiative was a big step towards modernizing and internationalizing our YSLU’s educational framework back then.
Teaching, Research & Educational Administration
From 2004 to 2008, I worked as an Associate Professor at Yerevan State Linguistic University. I developed syllabi, selected lectures and lesson plans, and took care of all aspects of teaching, evaluation, and grading for classes of 13-20 students per semester. During this time, I also served as the Director of Studies and was a member of the academic board from 2004 to 2006, actively involved in the day-to-day administration of the educational process.
Speaking Engagements & Conferences
Here are some highlights of my speaking at various academic and scientific conferences, including The 15th Annual Spring Conference Transnational Pedagogies at Syracuse University. “Challenges of Bologna Process and ECTS” in Tsakhkadzor, Armenia. In 2013, I was honored to be a panel speaker at the 13th Annual Dean’s Graduate Student Research Conference at the University of Toronto.
